YNW Melly Asks for Medical Furlough After Diamond Teeth Cause Infection in Prison YNW Melly is requesting a medical furlough due to a tooth infection. He has been in jail since February 2019 on double murder charges. Melly has an abscess in his lower jaw due to his diamond dental crowns. He is not permitted dental floss, a standard toothbrush or regular dental visits. The staff at the Broward County Jail do not have the proper tools to clean or treat his infection. According to his attorney he is in extreme pain and chronic infection. Melly’s team has requested a dental care order to stop the infection stating he can pay for it all himself. The court has yet to decide whether they will grant the request.
