Week 3 Of Derek Chauvin Trial Begins The murder trial of former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin began its third week on Monday, with the prosecution nearing the end of its case. So far 35 witnesses have been called by prosecutors, and more are scheduled to take the stand -including members of George Floyd’s family. Chauvin is facing two counts of murder and one count of manslaughter in the death of George Floyd last May. The defense is expected to begin making its case later this week.
