Tekashi 6ix9ine was sentenced to 2 years in prison Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019 for his entanglement with a violent street gang that fueled his rise to fame, but was spared a much harsher possible sentence because of his extraordinary decision to become a star witness for prosecutors. Tekashi 6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez, failed in his attempt to trademark his stage name.  The “Dummy Boy” rapper and Warren Hamilton, an artist, are engaged in a legal dispute over the name, according to AllHipHop.com.

Hamilton claimed to have been going by the alias SIX9 since 2007 and sued Tekashi in July.  According to lawyers, Tekashi has not yet responded to the ruling and the loss of the trademark.

How seriously do you think Tekashi 6ix9ne takes his rap career?
