Sony Completely Copies Nintendo, to Release PlayStation Classic

I’m conflicted on this one. Ryan Drake has the NES Classic and we’ve spent hours playing it at the station (of course after all the work has been done.) And then came the SNES Classic with one of my favorites, Super Mario World. And there are talks of an N64 Classic which may come soon.

Now, Sony is getting on board with the PlayStation Classic. I loved playing the PS1 many years ago, with games like Driver, Gran Turismo 2, and the countless sports games which looked pretty great at the time. But now? These PS1 graphics are looking pretty outdated. Just watch the trailer above and compare it to the 8 bit Nintendo games. At least those still look good on a big HDTV. PlayStation games look their best on the size of a phone screen, but nothing much bigger.

And we aren’t sure which games will be on the console. It’ll come prepackaged with 20 games for a total of $99.99, or $5 each per game. That’s a pretty steep price if you only like a handful of the games that are included.

And I still have a PlayStation in the closet somewhere, so I really don’t see much reason to get this. What are your thoughts?
