R. Kelly Sentenced to Additional Year in Prison for Chicago Sex Crimes

R. Kelly recently received a 20-year jail sentence in Chicago for his federal sex offenses prosecution. On Thursday (February 23), the scandalized singer appeared in federal court in Illinois.

The final year will be served consecutively after serving the first 19 years concurrently with the term he’s already serving. Prosecutors had suggested that he receive a 25-year term on top of the time he’s already serving. R. Kelly is currently incarcerated for 30 years after being found guilty of federal racketeering in New York.
