Prosecution Won’t Seek Death Penalty Against Accused Pop Smoke Killer Four people were taken into custody following the murder of Pop Smoke and now one of them won’t get the death penalty. Prosecution for the case won’t seek the death penalty for 20-year-old Corey Walker. Deputy District Attorney Hilary Williams spoke with The Shade Room about the case and said only life without parole was an option as a maximum sentence. Walker went to arraignment on Tuesday (June 6) but due to paperwork problems, he’s set to return on Wednesday (July 7th) to enter his plea. Do you think Walker will get the max sentence?
