Kelli participates in Cross Country and Track and Field and carries a 4.15 GPA. Kelli says that her mom is her role model and Shalane Flanagan is her sports role model. Her greatest achievement so far is “this past cross-country season when I won my 4th team state championship”, according to Kelli. After high school, she plans to continue her athletic and academic career at the University of Kentucky.
Kelli said that participating in high school athletics has given her the opportunity to make so many new friends. Some of her best friends have come from either track or cross country. She started running in seventh grade because she thought it would keep her in shape for soccer and she really liked it so she became a full-time runner her freshman year.
Coach David Dobson said “Kelli’s performances while a member of our team are what distinguishes her from others. She is #6 all-time in CHS history with a persona record of 18:18 and was an integral part of our four consecutive team state championships.”
West Unit Principal, Jeff Wolff said “Kelli is as great in the classroom as she is on the cross country course. She is a wonderful example of what a student-athlete should be.
Kelli also participates in Leadership Council, OHSAA Leadership Symposium, is a youth soccer coach and camp counselor. Her parents are Kevin and Chari Walsh and she has a sister, Kerri. She loves the Philly Cheesesteak at the Penn Station on Kingsridge Drive or in Bellbrook.
Way to go, Kelli! Congratulations!
