Meek Mill Criticizes Emphasis Placed on First Week Numbers Meek Mill took to Twitter to express both his confusion and frustration with the record company model for new releases. His issue is the focus on numbers and asks, what does it all really mean? In one tweet he wrote, we don’t go off first week numbers. Labels run that sh– and most of the numbers be fake. Focus on your brand and impact. In a follow up tweet he added, they crashing the rap game out…that everybody drop on Friday bs…WTF is that…why would you want to sell your product on the same day as the competition…for a billboard look? What does that do for an artist? Isn’t the name of the game in sports, business, music, etc to always go head-to-head with the best in the game to see if you match up?
