Justin Bieber Updates Fans On ‘Horrific Storm’ He’s Facing In Facial Paralysis Scare Justin Bieber gave fans an update on his fight against Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which has temporarily paralyzed the right side of his face, as he told fans recently.  According to the Mayo Clinic, Ramsay Hunt Syndrome occurs when “a dormant shingles or chickenpox outbreak affects the facial nerve near one of your ears.” “Through all of the discomfort, I have found comfort in the one who designed me and knows me. I’m reminded he knows all of me,” Bieber wrote on his Instagram Story. “He know[s] the darkest parts of me that I want no one to know about and he constantly welcomes me into his loving arms. This perspective has given me peace during this horrific storm that I’m facing.
