State Trial For Three Officers Charged In George Floyd Death Delayed To March The criminal trial for three former Minneapolis police officers charged in the death of George Floyd have been pushed back to March of next year. On Thursday, a judge move the trial date for Thomas Lane, Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thao from August to March of 2022. Last week, federal charges were filed against the officers, and delaying the state trial will allows that federal case to move forward.  It also creates more distance between the trial and the Derek Chauvin trial, which will conclude with Chauvin’s sentencing in June. The officers are charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter for failing to intervene in Floyd’s death.
