J. Cole Raps About 2013 Altercation With Diddy on ‘The Off-Season’ Track “Let Go My Hand” J. Cole’s new album, “The Off-Season” is out today (Friday, May 14th) and it features a track with Cole reminisces over the infamous scuffle with Puff Diddy back in 2013.  On the track, “Let Go My Hand,” Cole details his “last scrap” and how much he admired Puff as a seventh-grader.  The incident went down at an afterparty for the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City, it was reported that an intoxicated Diddy confronted Kendrick Lamar over his “Control” verse that contained a remark about the “King of New York.” Diddy allegedly tried to pour a drink on Lamar and Cole intervened and began to scuffle with the Bad Boy founder. After the new single dropped, TDE’s Punch commented on the incident tweeting, “Ahhh the infamous and ever-elusive Cole and Puff fade. What a night.
