Ice Spice Turned Down 2023 Freshman Class Cover

Ice Spice went from viral sensation to the Met Gala red carpet in a year. The Bronx native has three Top 10 songs in 2023, making her a top contender for Best New Artist. Ice Spice fans were surprised she wasn’t in the 2023 XXL Freshman Class. TMZ reports that the 23-year-old Capitol artist declined the magazine’s annual cover offer.

Per the outlet TMZ,

Ice Spice skipped being a Freshman,

She declined the spot due to a busy festival schedule and guest features. Ice Spice could be like other up-and-comers who didn’t make XXL Freshman but still became superstars. Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyler, The Creator, Post Malone, Cardi B, and more weren’t on the cover for different reasons.
