Chauvin Trial: Defense Rests Without Chauvin Taking The Stand The Derek Chauvin trial is nearing its end, without the former Minneapolis police officer taking the stand. On Thursday, the defense rested after Chauvin invoked his Fifth Amendment right not to testify. Closing arguments are scheduled for Monday, followed by jury deliberations.
