Dave Bautista Explains Why He Wants To Play Bane Dave Bautista really wants to play the character Bane and he said that is not to discredit Tom Hardy’s portrayal. He said he loved Tom’s portrayal, he just really wants a crack at it. I think I can bring an interesting twist to it. Not only in performance but in physicality. I would love to go back up to 320 pounds to play the character. I could play Bane in a way that is not only menacing and ominous but also freakishly intelligent. What do you think of Bautista as Bane?
