Mayor Nan Whaley Announces 5 New Department Initiatives for Dayton Police

Mayor Nan Whaley announced on Wednesday five new initiatives to improve community relations with the Dayton police department.
Dayton city leaders are committed to increasing transparency in the department, in the event of suspected misconduct done by city police to citizens. The mayor encourages anyone who suspects instances of police misconduct to email [email protected].
Other new initiatives include reviewing of incidents of excessive use of force, training of Bias and de-escalation for officers, reviewing the process of police recruitment, and work on improving community relations between the police force and Dayton residents.
