Chadwick Boseman Receives His First-Ever Oscar Nomination Chadwick Boseman has been nominated for Best Actor for his role in the Netflix movie, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. He is the first posthumous nominee in the category since Massimo Troisi for the 1995 Il Postino. This is Chadwick’s first ever Oscar nomination. He is the third person in Oscar history to be a nominee after passing. The other two are Heath Ledger and Ralph Richardson.
