Along with the joining, he changed his name to Snoop Lion. Now, it looks that members of the movement are outraged by his conversion. One of the members who are outraged is the original member of Bob Marley and the Wailers, Bunny Wailer. "[His conversion is] outright fraudulent use of [the] Rastafari Community's personalities and symbolism. [Snoop has failed to meet the] contractual, moral and verbal commitments [of the Rastafarian religion]," Wailer said. What goes along with the criticism is that the Ethio-Africa Diaspora Union Millennium Council releasing a statement saying that smoking weed and loving Bob Marley and reggae music doesn’t define the Rastafari Culture. They’re also threatening to sue Snoop if he doesn’t stop using the Snoop Lion name.
